Enfin l'Enfer
En 1964, Henri-Georges Clouzot commence le tournage de L'Enfer
avec comme acteurs principaux Romy Schneider et Serge Reggiani.
Des problèmes de santé (officiellement mais des problèmes juridiques
en serait la cause réelle) conduiront le réalisateur 3 semaines plus
tard à abandonner le tournage, aussi le scénario restera inachevé.
La télévision diffusera une sorte de "teaser" (des essais caméra)
pour préparer les spectateurs à la vision d'H.G. Clouzot, très
controversé déjà pour Les diaboliques ou même Quai Des Orfèvres.
Après une "adaptation" de Claude Chabrol où François Cluzet
sauve le film, Serge Bromberg se penche sur le sujet et récupère
tout ce qu'il reste d'archives en tout genre pour le présenter
cette année à Cannes (hors compétition) sous la forme
d'un reportage-film parait-il saisissant. La sortie est prévu en septembre.
Pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas HG Clouzot, je conseille
de regarder en premier La Prisonnière (1968). Une approche
personnelle et avant-gardiste de la soumission, du vice et de
la vertu par le biais d'une veritable recherche esthétique. Un chef-d'oeuvre.

Omar Souleyman tonight in Montreuil !
Omar Souleyman est une légende la musique syrienne. En l'espace de quinze ans, cette star locale a publié plus de 500 cassettes, vendues dans tous les magasins de Syrie. Originaire du nord-est de la ville rurale de Ras Al Ain, Souleyman a commencé sa carrière en 1994, accompagné d'un petit groupe de talentueux musiciens locaux qui l'accompagnent depuis le début. Il écume les concerts dans toute la Syrie et a été invité à jouer en Arabie Saoudite, à Dubai et au Liban, mais ne s'est encore jamais produit ailleurs qu'au Moyen-Orient.
Les innombrables traditions musicales de la région transparaissent dans sa musique qui reflète le melting-pot culturel d'un pays où cohabitent irakiens, turcs et kurdes en grand nombre. Les hymnes populaires qui composent le répertoire de Souleyman passent de la frénesie techno-pop festive (le "dabke", un style de dance music folklorique) à des chansons plus solennelles et contemplatives (l'"ataba, une forme traditionnelle de poésie populaire, équivalent de la soul), d'où ressort aussi des influences pop-traditionnelles irakiennes, kurdes et turques. Le chant "mawal" de Souleyman - sur des poèmes écrits par son complice de longue date Mahmoud Harbi - et les soli de synthé arabisants de l'incroyable Rizan Sa'id, qui joue mille notes à la seconde en y ajoutant beats saccadés et effets de phasing, se mêlent à l'oud, au saz, aux percussions et aux youyous, pour un mélange proprement hallucinant. Un authentique phénomène culturel, tout droit venu des rues de Syrie.

Not so long ago, i had the pleasure to play a late-late after-party in amsterdam with dj Tako & Marco (of the Marco & Orpheo fame). While sharing some music, (amongst other alcoolhic things) with these true gentlemen, we started to discuss the joy of psychedelia in general so i asked Tako to do a special mix for us, not the usual space disco thing you would expect from him, but more a shamanic home tape kinda thing, Tako headstation mix.
And because sometimes music speaks better with words, here's a little introduction from the man himself:
